Suaraccia Resort is located on the cape of Capo Coda Cavallo, which is part of the Tavolara Marine Reserve in the province of Olbia Tempio. This province is best known for the Gallura region and the Costa Smeralda. The resort is located 23km south of Olbia and 10 km from San Teodoro, two of the most popular destinations in Sardinia. The resort is surrounded by the most beautiful beaches in the area- the closes one is only 150 meters away!

The Capo Coda Cavallo peninsula is characterized by a succession of bays with sandy beaches and cliffs covered with Mediterranean vegetation. The whole area is very well developed for tourism and is a popular beach holidays destination.

Here is our list of the beaches in the area, in order of accessibility:

• Cala Paradiso From the resort, you can have direct access to this beautiful beach which is only 150 meters away from the apartments! The small bays have also some rocky areas, ideal for snorkeling!

• Cala Suaraccia/Le Farfalle This beautiful beach with fine white sand is only 600 meters away from the residence, you can reach it in 10 minutes walking.

• Salina Bamba Only accessible by foot, a 10-minute walk away from the resort. The beach is approx. 300 long. There are no facilities, so you have to bring everything you may need. 

• Baia Salinedda This beautiful small beach is relatively unknown so its ideal if you want to relax away from the crowds. You can reach it by foot, only 15 minutes walking, or in one minute by car.

• Capo Coda Cavallo This is the “tail” of the peninsula, and the reason why the cape is called “Capo Coda Cavallo” (literally Cape Horse Tail). This beach is reachable by car, because of the 2 km uphill climbing road.

• Baia Brandinchi This beach is known among the locals as “Tahiti” because of the crystal-clear shallow waters and long beach. It is easily accessible from the residence, only takes 20 minutes by foot or 3 minutes by car.

• Lu Impostu This beach is the “sister” of the Baia Brandinchi beach. Not only because of the way it looks, but also because of its location. The two beaches are located in two adjacent small bays, separated from each other only by the rocky Capo Capicciolu, and they can be accessed from the same parking lot. Very convenient as you can visit two of the most beautiful beaches of the are in the same day!

• La Cinta San Teodoro’s beach. La Cinta (The Belt) is a long beach that divides San Teodoro lagoon from the sea, and to that it owes its name. This 4km long white sandy beach is one of the most beautiful and famous beaches in Sardinia. In the southern part of the beach you can find plenty of beach bars, surf schools, boat rental services.

Tip: from Porto San Paolo you can book a boat tour to the islands of Isola Molara and Isola di Tavolara. L'isola di Tavolara, or Table Mountain, can be seen off the coast, if it is not a foggy day. From Capo Coda Cavallo you have a beautiful view of both islands.

Suaraccia Resort is the perfect place for an adventurous holiday in Sardinia! The resort offers hiking and mountain bike excursions. You can rent cross bikes or mountain bikes to discover the most beautiful places of Sardinia with a guide, you will reach places that are almost inaccessible otherwise. Quad excursions are also offered. More information can be found on this  website.

There are also hiking tours at the Capo Coda Cavallo. Various walks are offered along the Monte Nieddu, and the majestic Supramonte, and the various nature reserves where many birds live. It is also possible to climb the mountain on the island of Tavolara (565 meters above the sea). If you are interested in challenging activities such as climbing, canyoning or mountain biking in Sardinia take a look at the site of Nata Libera .  

This part of Sardinia is also perfect for diving and snorkeling. The marine reserve Tavolara is a unique place with the vast expanse of Posidonia oceanica (sea grass beds), many different colored sponges, and different types of colourful Mediterranean fish. There are 2 diving schools nearby that can guide you through the underwater world of Capo Coda Cavallo.

Sardinia is very popular for its beautifully golf courses in scenic locations. For the golf enthusiasts, 8 km from the resort there is the 9-hole Puntaldia golf course with beautiful sea views. At 60 km is the famous golf resort Pevero with 18 holes on the exclusive Costa Smeralda.

Olbia 27 km (ferry port; airport), San Teodoro 12 km, La Maddalena 70 km, Tempio Pausania 75 km. 

Suraccia resort is definitely recommended. The two room apartment was spacious and had a beautiful view. The food in the restaurant is (although a bit pricey) fantastically delicious.
Only pity is the lack of the possibility to use breakfast and between 12:00 and 17:00 no possibility to have lunch or order a drink.
Renting a car is recommended.

Lovely house with a beautiful view. Nice and spacious, and good air conditioning is available. The extra sleeping places on the loft are a godsend. This allows you to continue to use the sofa in the room. Furthermore, the available washing machine was nice! Nice pool at property and friendly owner and staff. Many beautiful beaches nearby, but walking distance is a broad concept...

Beautiful resort near beautiful beaches and towns. Very nice apartment, It is very spacious and large balcony. Everything is included including washing machine. Behind the resort, 2 min walk beautiful snorkeling spot. You can also eat food from the restaurant in your apartment. Garden; everything is taken care of. Front desk; very nice and happy to tell you everything about the area! Sardinia is beautiful! Boat rental recommended to the 2 islands off the coast. You really do need a car, I missed a bakery nearby.
