You can choose to make the crossing to Sardinia with your car, but you can also make a trip to the beautiful island during your holiday on the mainland. This does not necessarily have to be done from Italy, you can also take the boat trip to Sardinia from the South of France.

You can also book a ferry with Corsica Sardinia Ferries , Tirrenia , Grimaldi Lines and GNV - Grandi Navi Veloci. The costs of a boat trip depend on the date of your trip. Some companies operate once a week and others every other or every day. The travel time can also differ: you can opt for a fast crossing or a boat trip with overnight stay.

The most comfortable way to travel by ferry to Sardinia is to rent a cabin on the ship. In your own cabin you can have a good night of sleep before you arrive in Sardinia, take a shower, and enjoy the travel on the sea. That is especially interesting if you are travelling with the kids! Renting a private cabin on the ferry can be more expensive, but the price is comparable to what you will spend for a night in a hotel room.

Once in Sardinia: it is better if you arrive to the port that is closer to your destination, so you will not need to travel for too long to reach your accommodation. On the ferry you can already see the places that you may want to visit in Sardinia.
